Here's Our Story
Plumeria Botanical Boutique opened its first storefront on September 15th, 2015 in the Urbandale neighborhood of Battle Creek. After years of building a brand known for stunning floral arrangements and dream wedding flowers, Elisha and Bryan Mayes decided to buy the old Lakeview Hardware building and transform it into our second location.

About our Process
Before COVID arrived, we had decided to expand in Urbandale. But, as construction costs rose, it became clear that we would need to find a vacant building, instead.
From the moment we stepped inside the building, Elisha fell in love; the nostalgia, hardwood floors, and tall ceilings were exactly what she had imagined. She knew that they could create something truly amazing and bring a neighborhood staple back to life. With Urbandale’s support, we purchased the old Lakeview Hardware Store in July of 2022 and reopened in March of 2024.
The new space has new exterior paint, doors and windows, and a gorgeous new sign. We also retrofitted the inside, creating a new floor plan complete with new duct work, heating and cooling, plumbing, lighting, electrical, and three new bathrooms- it’s a brand new store with visible homages to the original anchor that was Lakeview Hardware. While the retail portion of the store has new flooring, the event space, which we call The Gallery, has the original hardwood floors, as well as a new bathroom, and two gorgeous chandeliers.
We chose to partner with local vendors so that we could continue to support the local economy in the vibrant community we call home.

About our Special Features
With gratitude, we were able to save the 100-year-old hardwood floors in this anchor building in the heart of the Lakeview business district. Bursting with light thanks to the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings, the space is highlighted by two enormous crystal chandeliers!
